The correspondence begins when she is a teenager in the 1930s and continues throughout her life. She had lifelong correspondence with many family members, many which lived to be in their 90s. Many of the items are photocopies of correspondence, photos, vital records, and other genealogical research. One original photo taken inside the post office at Syracuse, Kansas shows Robert and Rea Rodgers soring mail. The family lived in Ohio, Illinois, Kansas and Missouri.

These surnames include Botts, Newson, Strickler, and Tharp. Each surname has family history and genealogy research in addition to photographs, ephemera, and vital record information. There is also biographical information complied by the donor as well as a photograph album for the Strickler family.
