Jackson County, Missouri Collection
This collection contains items relating to Jackson County, Missouri history. These items cover a wide range of the county with the cities of Independence, Kansas City, and Raytown separated into series. Included within this collection are ephemera from these cities’ school districts and events/programs. Items include commencement programs, reproductions of images, graduation invitations, performance brochures, reunion packet, student directory, football program, and school publications.

Kansas City Board of Public Works Collection
This collection contains 18 register books from the Kansas City Board of Public Works regarding the construction of sewers, sidewalks, and streets, as well as curbing, paving, and grading. Some of these register books also contain corporate records for Sumtra Corporation, Fifteen Hundred St. Louis Company, Alrick, Inc., and Enterprise Syndicated Productions, Inc.

Joyce Cox was involved with various community, school, international, and historical organizations from the early 1970s through 2010. This collection contains rosters and directories from various organizations in the Kansas City, Missouri area. Most rosters contain name, address and phone number of members as well as the organizational leaders. More detailed information such as photos, faculty lists, or spouse’s names are included in a few of the rosters.
Kansas City Telephone Company Collection
This collection consists of a bound edition of The Booster magazine. This edition contains all volume published in 1924.
Lawson Family Photos
The collection consists of family photos and postcards belonging to the Lawson family from the 1920s to the 1950s. Many of the photos have been organized into albums but others are loose. Some photos have names, location and date recorded. Many of the photos are from trips. Others are taken in the Kansas City area where the family resided.

The Midwest Genealogy Center receives donations relating to family history and genealogy. Photos that do not fit into existing collections become a part of the photo collection. Many photos have identifiable information with the photos or on the backs of the photos while others are unidentified. Many photos have come from estate sales or from donors who have no connection to the family.

This collection contains various newspapers published in the United States. The newspapers found within this collection are original items and were published in the 19th and 20th century. Titles include the Daily News, Rosecrans Flyer, Sweet Springs Herald, Baker Orange, The Northeast News, and the Northeast Shopper, The Confederate, Young America, and The Centennial Record.
