This collection includes newsletters and miscellaneous information from the Chapel Neighborhood #20 Council. The newsletters contain neighborhood information, upcoming events, future meetings dates, and as well as community information. Also contained within this collection is a map of all Independence neighborhood councils, a member list for #20 council, and invitations to events.

This collection consists of correspondence and ephemera for Dorothy Clair (Edwards) and Evelyn Collins including: opera program, report card, certificate of standing, letters, obituary, yearbook, programs, calling cards, follies invitations, envelope, photographs, memorial book, Catholic Girl’s Guide, Christmas card, and prayer book. There are significant gaps from 1904-1913, 1922-1931, 1935-1961, and 1961-1981.

These items cover a range of P.T.A. activities such as board meetings and events. This collection consists of the Bible donated to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church [Independence, MO] from the “Ladies of Jackson County.” This Bible was published in 1845 in Hartford, Connecticut by St. Andrus & Son Publishing. The main title pages as well as the first pages of the Old Testament are missing. In addition to the Bible, the collection contains a note found within the Bible and a scanned copy of the cover.

Two oversize items are also included in this collection, 1 leather bound proclamation and 1 framed certificate of appreciation. The items range from 1986 to 2011 and covers information about the choir, personal information about specific members, and concert materials.

The first book notes that Harry E Corbin bought the book while living in Canton, Missouri in 1923. The book details marriages dating back to 1913 added by Harry E Corbin after the purchase of the book. The date of the last entry in the final book is 1969.
