Genealogy

This collection contain genealogy research for the Norman, Allen, Cort, Cation, Cannady, Griffith, Ross, Steele, and Wuebbold families. This collection also contains family photographs, correspondences, an autograph book from 1938, and a newsletter from Zion Lutheran Church in St. Louis, Missouri.

This collection consists of the family Bible for the Joseph Markee family. This Bible contains family records for births, marriages, and deaths Joseph, his wife Mary Jane Waite Markee, and their children. Also included in this collection is a family unit chart and a bookmark.

This collection consists of the family Bible for Nellie Oleta Griffitts and Abner Jefferson Marks. The cover and some of the pages of the Bible are missing, but the family records sheets within the Bible are complete. This Bible contains some birth, death and marriage information for parents and grandparents as well as children. Dates were recorded in the family bible as late as the 1950. The names and dates were written at different times and in various handwriting.

The collection contains the genealogical history of the McCampbell family. Within this work are genealogy charts, family history, and transcribed records. Also found within this collection are photographs, correspondence, Bible records, genealogy charts, and miscellaneous family histories. The folders are arranged alphabetically by family name. The collection also contains Michael McCarty and Margaret Hunger’s family Bible.

This collection contains one family Bible with family record sheets in the middle of the volume documenting births and marriages in the Shrewsbury and McFarland Families.

The collection consists of family photos and CD’s with books, drafts of books, and genealogical research of family histories on the McIntosh and related families. A few CD’s contain oral histories or personal histories. 

This collection consists of the family Bible for the Robert McMillin Family. This Bible contains the family records for births for Robert, his wife Jane Ramsay, and their children. There is also dates for Jane Ramsay McMillin’s parents as well as William and Mary Coulthard. Also included in this collection is a McMillin family unit chart.

This collection primary covers the history of the genealogy branch of Mid-Continent Public Library, which has been located in several buildings in Independence, Missouri over the years. Included in this collection are photographs of staff, events, customers, and buildings. Many of the photographs have been scrapbooked. Other items in the collection are representative of the work done at the library including programs, newsletters, sign-in sheets, and thank you cards.
