Scope and Contents

This collection contains family photographs and photographs of gravesites of the Bean family, as well as photocopies and notes on family history. There is a copy of a Manual of Interior Guard Duty, signed by Jesse W. Bean in 1918. Jesse W. Bean died in the Influenza epidemic of 1918.

Scope and Contents The collections consists of photos, documents, correspondence, and artifacts relating to the life of George B. Owens as well as his genealogy. Although many of the items relate to his personal life, they also have a broader context. As a student and later a teacher in Johnson County, Kansas and Wyandotte County, Kansas schools, many of the photos are not only not only of him, but class photos, and photos of school buildings. Scope and Contents This collection primarily contains correspondences, which are sorted into two files. The first file contains correspondences to and from Edward Coles, documenting his experiences in the U.S. Navy near the end of World War I in 1918. Many of these letters come from and were sent to family members located in California.
