Chastain Family Collection
Scope and Contents
Most of the collection consists of the family records of various interrelated families, including the Allen, Britt, Carroll, Chastain, Morgan, Moseley, Poore, and Parker families, with the Chastain family being a particular focus. Photographs of some families are included as are portraits. Also included are various miscellaneous documents and Civil War-era military records.

Biographical / Historical
Robin Neal Morgan was born on January 5, 1926 in Benton County, Missouri. He was the seventh of eight children born to James Lewis Morgan and Bessie Pearl Chastain. He married Ethyle Maxine Allen. They had three children: Steven, born in 1954, and twins Marilyn and Marcia, born in 1960. He died on January 21, 1993, survived by his wife, his children, and his grandchildren.
James Rex Carroll was born on August 25, 1933. He married Bonnie Bernita Christian, first cousin to Robin Neal Morgan. They have three children: Gregory, born in 1956, Steven, born in 1958, and Bradley, born in 1965. Much of Carroll’s contributions to the collection are dated after Robin Neal Morgan’s death.
